Workrota was built in 2026 for mobile-first hospitality teams. Schedules are AI-generated from your team's availability and coverage needs in under a minute, not drag-and-dropped. Shift drops, pickups, and swaps all flow through approval-aware notifications instead of group texts. There's no desktop-only manager dashboard — managers work from the same phone as their staff.
Can my staff trade shifts without me approving every one?
You decide. Workrota supports both manager-approval and auto-approve modes per location. If a teammate picks up an open shift, you get one tap to confirm or decline — and they get notified instantly.
Does Workrota work for bars, breweries, and pubs — not just restaurants?
Yes. Workrota is purpose-built for hospitality, which includes bars, breweries, taprooms, pubs, cocktail lounges, coffee shops, food trucks, and full-service restaurants. The role system is custom (bartender, barback, line cook, dishwasher, host, etc.) and the schedule view is built around shift roles, not employee types.
How much does Workrota cost?
Workrota is free for your first 30 days, no credit card required. After the trial, pricing scales with the number of active staff at your location — simple per-staff pricing, billed monthly. Detailed plans are published at launch.
Can Workrota import my existing schedule from Excel or another tool?
Yes. Hand us whatever your current tool exports — a CSV, an Excel sheet, even a messy payroll list — and your whole roster imports in minutes, roles and wages included. And it works both ways: your data exports to CSV anytime, because it's yours.
Does Workrota handle special events, like sports nights or live music?
Yes. Workrota auto-imports MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL games for the teams you track, and lets you create event-linked specials (e.g. "$5 nachos when the Cubs play at home"). The AI scheduler factors events into staffing suggestions.
Will my team need to download an app?
There's a free Workrota app on the App Store with full push notifications — and the browser version installs to any home screen in one tap, so Android and desktop are covered too. Your team picks whatever they're comfortable with.
What happens to our data if we leave?
